About the event
Across the country, communities are mobilizing in response to escalating immigration raids and arrests that continue to terrorize families and destabilize entire neighborhoods. Here at home, labor, community, and faith organizations recently secured a major victory with the passage of SB-397, Democracy and Government Accountability, officially signed into law by Governor Lamont on May 4th. While many are calling it one of the strongest immigrant protection and government accountability laws in the country, organizers across Connecticut continue working around the clock to provide sanctuary, support, and safety to those under threat.
These moments remind us of the long history of resistance against state violence, racialized policing, and systemic dehumanization.
