In 2022, resident organizers and small business owners fundraised dollars to secure a 1-year planning grant to design a cohesive business plan that would in turn serve as the foundation for the organization's official launch in 2024. The People's Place is made possible by the Leever Foundation, Connecticut Community Foundation and Perrin Family Foundation.
The Leever Foundation is dedicated to supporting opportunities for people in Waterbury, Connecticut, especially children, to fulfill their potential.
To foster an equitable and inclusive community in Greater Waterbury and Litchfield Hills by inspiring generosity, supporting organizations, and cultivating effective leaders.
The Perrin Family Foundation’s mission is to invest in and cultivate support for an ecosystem that builds the collective leadership and power of Black and Brown youth in order to advance movements for racial and social justice.
