REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

PURPOSE OF RFP

The People's Place is seeking consultants and content experts to join its support networks that would provide training and services for future fiscal sponsorees and emerging resident-led organizations and businesses in the city of Waterbury, CT. The goal of this project is to support the growth and development of these organizations in order to promote their success and sustainability. Interested parties should submit a Request for Proposal for consideration.

SCOPE OF SERVICES

The organization seeks proposals for services that can effectively support the planning and development of for-profit and nonprofit organizations and projects:

MARKET RESEARCH & COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS

including but not limited to supply and demand assessment, identification of duplicative products and services, and identification of market value for products and services.

FUNDING

including but not limited to establishing and growing business credit, small-business loans, venture capital, crowdfunding, SBA investment programs, personal versus business financial liability; all these opportunities for both for-profit and nonprofit funding mechanisms

BASIC BUSINESS/ FINANCIAL PLANNING

including but not limited to choosing and applying for a business structure (i.e., sole proprietorship, partnerships, LLC), budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, basic payroll and accounting, insurance needs, and licensing and permits

BASIC NON-PROFIT PLANNING

including but not limited to establishing a non-stock corporation, filing Form 1023, board development, fundraising, grant writing, licensing and permits

ADVANCED BUSINESS PLANNING

including but not limited to business incorporation and cooperatives, board development, data analysis and impact, staff professional development, staff benefits, employee handbook creation and standard operating manuals

MOVEMENT BUILDING/

STRATEGIC PLANNING

including but not limited to political organizing, partnerships management, base-building, principled struggle, policy development, lobbying and coalition building

COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING

including but not limited to branding (i.e., logo, graphic design), outreach strategy and tactics,
videography and photography

TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS

including but not limited to introductory trainings to G-Suite, AI, Web 2.0 and relevant software that promote business efficiency

OTHER

We realize there are many other incubation services that are valuable to those starting entrepreneurial projects (both for and non profit) that are not mentioned on this form. Please help us identify those services. Space is provided later for you to elaborate.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Consultants interested in submitting a proposal must complete the online form by Monday, Aug 21st, 2023, 5:00pm (EST).

EVALUATION CRITERIA

Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

Experience and qualifications of the consulting firm and team members
Understanding of the scope of services and ability to deliver the proposed services
Proposed approach, methodology, and timeline for delivering the services
Budget and cost-effectiveness
References from previous clients who have received similar services

TIMELINE

Proposals must be submitted no later than Monday, Aug 21st, 2023, 5:00pm (EST). Selected consultants will be notified no later than Tuesday, September 5th, along with further instructions regarding next steps as it aligns with the progress of the project.

CONFIDENTIALITY

As an emerging organization itself, The People's Place requires that consultants maintain the confidentiality of all information provided by our organization in connection with the project and to use such information solely for the purposes of submitting a proposal.

CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENT

Upon approval of the proposal, the selected consultant may be required to enter into a contractual agreement with our organization and/or a TPP client, outlining the terms and conditions of the project, including the scope of services, timeline, deliverables, and payment terms. Contract terms will be co-created and mutually agreed upon by the consultant and organization to ensure all needs and expectations are accommodated.
