For years, grassroots organizers and small business owners around Waterbury have identified the lack of available meeting, networking, and working space to be a major reason that progress is slow to develop. There is no easily identifiable place where people can learn and grow together. The People's Place seeks to change that.
The People's Place is a grassroots initiative that seeks to build power within individuals and communities through fiscal sponsorship, organizational and leadership development and business incubation.
It is our vision that this essential infrastructure will bring innovative visions to life and ultimately contribute to a cohesive landscape for effective organizing and entrepreneurship in the Brass City.
OUR SERVICES
Upon the organization's official launch in 2024, The People's Place will provide key services that strengthen the efforts and impact of resident organizers and small-business owners.
FISCAL
SPONSORSHIP
Not every mission will need a 501c3. Fiscal sponsorship is available for groups seeking a more efficient and less expensive alternative to starting their own 501c3 non-profit organization. For groups that would like to be fiscally sponsored, The People's Place will provide administrative and backbone support that will help justice-centered organizations and resident-led initiatives focus on the work.

BUSINESS INCUBATION & LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Effective organizations, businesses and leaders are grounded in continuous learning and improvement. Through an array of support networks, The People's Place will provide professional development, coaching and technical assistance services that will support the development of for-profit and non-profit ventures, improve organization effectiveness and increase their impact.

CO-WORKING
SPACE
Residents and emerging leaders deserve access to affordable space to work, learn, and create. The People's Place seeks to house multi-year tenants in a collaborative workspace environment, with access to enclosed office space, dedicated desk space and shared amenities available on a rental basis.

The People's Place is seeking consultants and content experts to join its support networks that would provide training and services for future fiscal sponserees and emerging resident-led organizations. Interested parties should submit a Request for Proposal for consideration.
